Strategi Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Kota Bandar Lampung dalam Meningkatkan Partisipasi Politik Masyarakat pada Pilkada Serentak 2020 di Masa Pandemi Covid-19

Abstract

Simultaneous elections in 2020 various pros and cons of the community that accompanied the central government's plan to continue to hold elections simultaneously in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bandar Lampung became the area that was considered the most vulnerable in the implementation of simultaneous elections in Lampung Province. KPU RI set a target for community political participation of 77.5%. This research aims to find out and describe the strategy of the Bandar Lampung City KPU in increasing public political participation in simultaneous elections in the pandemic period and analyze the challenges and obstacles of the strategy carried out by the Bandar Lampung City KPU. The strategy carried out by the KPU of Bandar Lampung City in increasing community participation during the COVID-19 pandemic has worked well when analyzed using SWOT. The problem can be solved with the help of existing stakeholders and democratic volunteers who come from the community. But other obstacles certainly still exist such as pandemic conditions, budgets and human resources.
