Abstract

A work accidents and occupational diseases are unexpected events that can cause disability/injury. One of the Government's efforts to control the risk of accidents and illnesses caused by work, especially the construction industry, is by issuing Government Regulation no. 50 of 2012 concerning SMK3. The urgency of implementing this SMK3 is to ensure the safety of construction workers. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of SMK3 in construction companies in Bandar Lampung, including: PT. Lematang Success Independent, PT. Sumber Makmur Adiprayoga, and PT. Tiga Jaya Kencana and to find out the various obstacles encountered in the implementation of SMK3. This research is a descriptive type using qualitative methods. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study show that the implementation of SMK3 in construction companies in Bandar Lampung is quite good, this is evidenced by the relatively low number of work accidents. But there are still things that hinder its implementation, namely the lack of supervision from the government and the company, educational background, and obstacles from environmental aspects around the project such as citizen complaints and heavy equipment mobilization. For this reason, it is necessary to increase supervision at project sites, increase socialization regarding OSH, and provide CSR for residents affected by a project.
